The Rite of Reconciliation, often called "confession" is the sacrament in which Christ forgives our sins and reconciles us to our fellow Christians. Its sign or ceremony is the sinner's showing his sorrow by verbally acknowledging his specific sins and the priest's words of forgiveness and reconciliation in Christ's name. Not only does the Sacrament of Penance free us from our sins, but it also challenges us to have the same kind of compassion and forgiveness for those who sin against us. We are set free of our sins to forgive others.
Students in 2nd grade who attend our parish school are prepared for the Sacrament in their religion classes. Students in 2nd grade who attend public or private school are prepared for the Sacrament while attending our Parish School of Religion (PSR) on Sunday mornings during the school year. Those older who have not yet completed the Rite of Reconciliation should contact the church office.
The Rite of Reconciliation can be celebrated any time, please call the church office for an appointment or refer to the weekly bulletin for a scheduled time.
