The Parish School of Religion (PSR) program assists parents in the religious formation of their children by providing classes for students in grades K-12 who are not currently enrolled in Catholic schools. Volunteers have committed time and talent to the program as catechists, classroom helpers, and office helpers for the entire school year. Classes are held on Sunday mornings from 9:00 a.m. – 9:50 a.m. Classes are held in the parish school as well as the Church basement classrooms. There are formation classes for those interested as a catechist (teachers). Everyone who participates with children in our diocese needs to attend a Virtus training session. There are periodic staff meetings and training sessions for teachers and helpers. The coordinator oversees all aspects of the program, enrollment, and coordinates schedules and substitutions.

The New Translation of the Roman Missal

During the next three weeks, the PSR students will be spending some of their class time learning about the new edition of The Roman Missal. They will learn about the changes to prayers we say during Mass and the prayers that the priest recites alone.  These changes will begin the first Sunday of Advent. Booklets explaining these changes have also been sent home to the families so that parents and others in the family will also be prepared for the changes to the Mass.
